A Decade of Showalter's Fly-In Outposts: Simply the Best!

Spectra Print has provided marketing services for Showalter’s Fly-In Outposts since 2008 when current owner, Eddie Showalter, took over the operations from his parents, Edwin and Louise.  Showalters has served over 6,000 guests in the past six years - over 80% of their customers return every year. Journey into a roadless world where the lakes are pristine and Ontario’s legendary outdoor experience delivered by exceptional service. Being entrusted with the Showalters marketing effort, including the launch of their new website to coincide with the release of the new brochure on January 1st, comes from our long working relationship with Showalters. We have been tasked with conveying Showalters commitment to treating their guests like family and making sure their guests experience is one they will not only remember but want to experience again and again. For over 50 years, members of the Showalter family have been providing fly-in fishing adventures from Lake of the Woods to the Arctic Circle. Beginning with the purchase of Northwest Flying Service in the late 1950’s, Ralph, Manly, and Edwin Showalter eventually became some of the most experienced bush pilots ever to fly the northern regions of Canada, guiding thousands of fishermen and hunters to once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experiences.

In 2008, after a long and legendary 50-year aviation career, Edwin retired, and he and Louise sold the company operations to their son Eddie. Under Eddie’s management his family’s reputation for high levels of customer service and safety continues to bring guests back year after year.

During the summer of 2014, the Showalter family, upon seeing the huge increase in demand for remote fishing locations, decided to purchase and open three more fly-in fishing outposts. Using the experience gained in over 40 years of bush flying and guiding, Eddie was able to transform these new outposts into prime destinations for Canadian fishing and hunting adventures.

Showalter’s Fly-In Outposts offer the finest in accommodations and equipment. Modern cabins feature knotty pine interiors, hot and cold running water, showers, solar lights, gas grills, fish cookers, refrigerators and freezers, all to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. At the dock your fishing experience will begin with newer Lund or Alumarine boats and 8, 9.9, and 15 horsepower four stroke Yamaha motors. All boats have swivel boat seats and unlimited fuel.

Moose hunters with Showalters have had great success on their guided moose hunting excursions. With a 60-70% success rate, several 50” - 56” bulls are taken annually. Showalter's top notch moose hunt is a fully-guided, seven day excursion starting on the third Monday in September. The hunting area is located on a series of rivers and boggy lakes 135 air miles north of our base. Our guides, all local and very experienced, will do their best to show you and your group the hunting experience of a lifetime.

Showalters is known for offering one of the best black bear hunting opportunities in northwest Ontario with active, baited stations providing good success rates each fall. The hunting area is located 50 miles west of our airbase and is adjacent to Woodland Caribou Park, which increases chances to harvest a trophy bear in the 300- 500 pound class. The hunt takes place out of tree stands (both fixed and portable) over active baits. They begin baiting in Mid-August to ensure that the baits are working well by the time hunters arrive in early September. Also included in this hunt is the ability to fish the great outpost camps that Showalter's operates during the summer months.
